Nakina is the top Moose hunting destination in Ontario and maybe all of Canada. Due to the high population of Moose; we receive way more adult Moose tags than outfitters that are farther south. This is why we are able to provide archery (bow) hunts, rifle hunts and Muzzleloader hunts at a very reasonable price.

Moose range over much of North America. They frequent marshy areas feeding on abundant vegetation. For many hunters, taking a large bull is the hunt of a lifetime! The only Non- Resident Moose Hunting in the area is in the Provincial Primitive Weapons area on the Aluneau Peninsula. These hunts can be either Black powder, Muzzleloader, or Archery. Archery means either Bow or Crossbow. We operate two Tent Camps for our hunters.

The "Canada Moose" defines big game hunting in North America. The season for bow
and gun hunters starts in mid-September. Non-resident hunters must have a valid hunting
license and be a registered guest at a tourist establishment. There aremany ways to hunt
Ontario Moose, calling,paddling up creeks, small rivers or along the lakeshore and stalking
in the bush. Being patient, watching and waiting in feeding areas, edges of marsh meadows,
2-5 year old burn areas and forest cutovers can be very rewarding, especially if it's also a
browsing or travel corridor.

The wilderness region between Chapleau and Wawa is well known for being one of the top areas in Ontario for fishing and big game hunting. Our Moose hunt takes place in WMU 32 and WMU 35. This is one of the top regions for Moose hunting due to the absence of deer. Whitetail Deer are carriers of a parasite that is deadly to Moose. A high population of deer usually means a low population of Moose. We do not have any deer in our area or at least you can say they are very rare. As a result, we have a thriving Moose population in our WMU.

Moose are abundant in this area. Lac Seul Lodge has taken many record bulls with rifle and bow. Ontario's early bow season is the second or third week in September. The rifle hunt begins in mid October.

The north shore of Lake Superior has one of the highest Moose population densities in Canada. Because of this North Superior Charters receives more adult non-resident Moose tags than other camps can only dream of. This coming year we will have six Bull Moose tags for rifle and four Cow Moose tags for rifle. In our region we are allowed to split one rifle tag into two archery tags.

Northern Ontario has one of the highest concentrations on Moose in Canada. We are located at the most northern point that roads reach in Ontario so we are very close to massive populations of Moose. From our location, we have access to hundreds of miles of wilderness trails, old logging roads, streams, rivers and marshes where Moose are constantly seen. Our all inclusive, fully guided moose hunts take place at either one of our 12 remote fly-in outposts or at one of two fly-in tent camps. These hunts are in remote locations in some of the most prime moose hunting in Ontario. For our rifle hunt we consistently have a 90% success rate with 50+ inch bulls taken each year. Our largest bull to date was 66+ inches that scored out at 219 7/8 with Boone and Crockett. Calling in a 1400 lb bull with a rack that size will make the hair stand up on the back of the neck of even the most experienced hunter!
