The Shiras Moose in our area of Montana have some of the best genetics in the state. Although this hunt requires special draw, once a tag is acquired you have an excellent chance at harvesting a great big Shiras Bull moose. The license application for moose is due by May 1st to Montana fish, wildlife and parks. Remember to put in each year as your points are squared which increases your chance of draw.
MOOSE, MOUNTAIN GOAT, BIGHORN SHEEP, ANTELOPE, DEER B AND COW ELK licenses are available through special permits drawings. We will provide you with applications, correct area numbers and pertinent information. The Moose, Antelope, Deer B or Cow Elk can be added to your Elk – Deer Combination Hunt if you desire at a much-reduced rate. We offer a late season Cow Elk only hunt for those hunters wanting to fill the freezer.
Moose hunts in our area are all by draw and there are not many tags. Because of this we do not take many Moose hunters, but it also means that if you are lucky enough to get a tag, the odds of getting a Moose is very high. We are 100% on our Moose hunts. The Moose in our area are the Shiras Moose and do not get the big antlers like they have in Alaska, but are they ever good eating.
